John Adams Dress Code
The parents and staff of John Adams Elementary adopted a school uniform policy for the school year 2007-2008. The purpose of wearing uniforms is for students to view school as a workplace for teaching and learning. Our school culture will be improved by the students' enhanced equality, self-respect, sense of pride, ownership in themselves, their school, and community. Uniforms are worn to further a safe academic environment and to support Goal 3 in the District's Strategic Aims. Uniforms may be purchased at any store (J. C. Penney's catalog, Dollar General, Wal-Mart, etc.) that carries the required dress list.
Girl's Uniforms Knit shirt, white or navy blue Navy, black or khaki shorts, slacks Skirts or skorts Adams sweatshirt or t-shirt Black or Khaki jumpers/dresses
Boy's Uniforms Knit shirt, white or navy blue Navy, black or khaki shorts, slacks Adams sweatshirt or t-shirt
Recess and physical education classes make it very dangerous for children to wear sandals/flip-flops, or slides. Please let your child wear tennis shoes to school every day.

John Adams School Creed
I am a John Adams Elementary Student. I have great expectations for myself.
I accept the challenges and responsibilities to become the best that I can be. I will make today the very best day of all. I will treat others as I would like to be treated. With my family and teachers I will determine what I will become for the education I receive today, will make me a leader of tomorrow. I WILL succeed. I WILL not fail. I promise to abide by this creed. |
| Our mission is to develop young men and women with active and creative minds, a sense of understanding and compassion for others, and the courage to act on their beliefs. We stress the total development of each child: moral, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical. We want to prepare students for future successes. |
